okay so on tuesday we had an intercambio! I got to go to Yumbel, which is this cute tiny little town about an hour out of the city. It was soo fun. I am so used to the city, I have only lived here for the past four months, so it was definitely a change to head out to the country side. But it was just so beautiful and it was fun to see a different part of the mission. The church up there is in a little tiny casa (house) about the size of just our chapel here in Los Angeles. So different but still so cool.
Also so we got to do a service activity this week! It was with our zone and with another zone, we drove out to the country and I kid you not, raked leaves for four our straight. We were at this HUGE high school with just tons and tons and tons of trees. Anddddd we all left feeling like hunch backs because raking is HARD. but it was so fun.

this week was also a little different becauseeeeeee my poor little companion has a problem with her hip and just has had the hardest time walking these past couple of weeks, but it was especially bad this week. SO we had to stay in the casa for a couple of days. On friday, the day we were planning to leave and go out and work, I woke up with the flu. LAME RIGHT.
but we do have a super cool story. Saturday, after our service project and our lunch, we were back in the casa, both of us in a lot of pain and just wanting to sleep. Buttttt. We both felt super prompted that we needed to leave and work this day. so we did! We had people to go visit. But as we were walking, one after the other called to cancel these appointments. Literally nothing was working out and we were so frustrated and just wanted to go home... like seriously door after door was shut in our faces. So we found this cute little bench and sat down and maybe shed a few tears... ;) But we decided we needed to pray! We prayed and we said, "Heavenly Father, please help us to see a miracle in this last hour of our day!" Then we got up and kept working. And, I kid you not, the first door we knocked on, this man answered and let us in to his house! His name was Carlos, and he has like four daughters and they were all super interested! It was a miracle and we walked home with smiles bigger than our faces.
no doubt this was one of the greatest experiences of my mission so far and such a testimony builder to me that God really is so mindful of us and always answers our prayers. hashtag happy kate
